this newness of life :)

dear friends,

this year has been the best year ever so far & i believe with all of my heart, it will continue to be! my dear Father is a great Redeemer. the downs, lows, disappointments, growing pains & dark night of last season has passed! i can say that i am genuinely happy. His joy is becoming my strength once more! the fog of negativity & cloud of doubt has lifted! Hallelujah :)
friends, the Holy Spirit has reminded me that living in love with God is living. so. it's back to the simple. taking all the love i can get from my Papa! standing in the waterfall of affection from my true Beloved, Christ Jesus. i CAN'T be anywhere else. His love has taken me too far..by grace, i won't walk away from Him ever! He's all i want & need. my everyday is for Him & for people. not saying i do it perfectly, but this is the vision & even this, because He has chosen me. :) His love enables me to so walk. His love opens my heart to receive help to get back up. His love opens up my eyes to see the pieces of my heart in His hands, made into something beautiful. everything i do & say must point back to my King. i'm learning of the beauty of faith; because faith is the way by which Christ dwells in my heart. without faith, it is impossible to please Him.

My 22nd Birthday was January 30th & it's the best I've had yet! I celebrated twice, once with family in Richmond & once in Fredericksburg with friends. I asked the Lord for a great birthday, so He gave me two!! In RVA, I went to the dentist my birthday weekend & while I was sitting in the chair. I heard the Lord tell me that my dentist had back pain. I couldn't speak with all the utensils in my mouth, so I waited until my check-up was done. :) Afterwards, I asked Dr. W if he had back pain. He paused for a moment & said that just yesterday he hurt his back raking leaves. He didn't turn down my request to pray for him. I prayed & he felt heat on his back. I told him it was the Holy Spirit! Hehe! There is still more! Leaving the dentist office, I felt like the Lord wanted me to go to Old Navy for some reason. I brushed it aside at first & drove past the turn. I then heard Holy Spirit say, "Why are you disobeying Me?" I felt like I needed to listen to Him! So I turned around & went into Old Navy. I didn't feel much at first, but slightly drawn to one of the employees working there. So...I hung around her without trying to be too creepy. I think it was definitely funny that I was pretending to look through racks of clothes & praying for a word inside Old Navy! I felt like God told me, "She is in pain too but a different kind. It's her heart. She broke up with her boyfriend." So when she was away from the other employees, I asked about this "heart pain." Sally [name changed] told me that she was carrying pain for someone else. She said yesterday, her ex-fiance went to rehab. And she was in pain for him. Wow! what an open door the Lord opened!!!! I got to pray with her and be a witness of Jesus!

Back in Fred, I had a birthday party with friends :) Halfway through, we sat down to play CatchPhrase but it ended up being a prayer meeting for various things....and then..a Holy Spirit joy party...then prayer ministry for people at the party...lastly, when about 8 of us were left-brothers & sisters in Christ. We prayed for each other & it ended up in tears and freedom in God. Lies being broken over our identity. Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!! Finally we went home at 3am hahaha!

Passages for this season::
Isaiah 43:1-2, 18-19 ...Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; & through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, & the flame shall not consume you...Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness & rivers in the desert.

Song of Songs 2:10-12 My Beloved speaks & says to me: "Arise, My love, My beautiful one, & come away, for behold, the winter is past; the rain is over & gone. the flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come...

Autumn's Arrival. Lift Up Your Voice For Justice.

Autumn's breeze has come so suddenly. Already we're turning off the a.c. in our cars and rolling down our windows to feel & take in the sweet breath of creation. Summer is no longer my favorite season. I love all the change that comes with Autumn. The air. The leaves. Marked Conference was a teen gathering we had mid-August. The vision was to reveal Jesus to the youth of this region. And that they'd be so impacted that they'd live lifestyles of radical obedience to God. Between 100 - 200 came from Fredericksburg, Richmond, Colonial Beach, Harrisonburg and other various cities in Virginia. Many experienced God in ways they never had before! Praise the Lord!!

At the end of August, about 30 new Burn Interns arrived at the Prayer Furnace. They are currently taking David Bradshaw's Priesthood class to learn about ministry to God. I like them a lot. :) They are boldly engaging in prayer and seeking the Lord in His Word. I know many of them have been touched already though it is only the beginning of four months in the internship. I'll keep you all updated on their encounters and transformations! I know you all want a testimony, but I can't think of one at the moment!!

Earthquake:
Even though I have taken a class on the End Times and hear often about preparing our hearts, I feel I have grown dull to the reality that I must have and KEEP understanding concerning the End Times. Even if the Lord does not return in this generation, we must clearly teach our children about what is to come. Matthew 25 is an important passage concerning the time of the Lord's return.

Prayer Room - Intercession:
>Genesis 12:3 says, "I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you..." concerning Israel. Therefore pray that the US government would be one to bless Israel and do what's best for that country. There has been talk about dividing Israel. If it happens, it won't be good for America.

Personal:
Since Aug, God has been reminding me that He is my Father again. It's so simple, but knowing that He's my Father changes everything. Ever.ry.thing. I know that NO insecurity can stand when I start to understand more and more of His delight over me. Just receiving His love gives me confidence and drives out fear! Coming out of a season where I wanted to mostly isolate myself, I am re-learning that two realities are needed concerning worship/devotion. One, I need to spend time alone with God. Just like a husband and wife need to spend quality time together alone, so do I have to spend that time with Him in the secret place. Two, I need to spend time in worship with other believers too. Having both keeps my heart in a good place. Alone, I get to hear what He wants to speak only to me t
o move my heart in love for Him and in a body, I get to receive revelation that He is giving to others as well as having a context where I can share revelation He's giving me!!

India

The Lord has really been breaking my heart for the youth in India. Some time ago, I had a graphic dream with young men and mostly young women committing suicide. Without much se
arching, I found that suicide in India among youth is one of the highest in the world. Since then, the Lord has been giving me a burden to pray for them. I also found women are sometimes burned to death by their husbands if they have baby girls, not boys. I do not know how widespread this is, but I am praying that God would raise up spiritual fathers in India that would know Him!! Please pray with me! Ask God to give you His burden for nation[s], and He'll be faithful to give if you are open to receive it.

Nefarious: Merchant of Souls

This was a documentary that I watched about two months ago at the Byrd Theatre in Richmond, Va. It is about human sex trafficking in different countries, all the way in Thailand to Amsterdam to right here, under our noses-in the United States. It is hard to watch, but I'd recommend it to anyone who is not too young. There is no nudity, but there are shots of the red light district in Amsterdam for example that might be too much for someone too young. This was produced by Christians (ExodusCry) who want to see captives get set free. Go to: nefariousdocumentary.com for more information.

he's like an apple tree in the woods

Like an apple tree among the trees of the woods,
So is my beloved among the sons.
I sat down in his shade with great delight,
And his fruit was sweet to my taste.

Thoughts & Thanks

I just finished reading a little ditty this morning by Norman Grubb on Romans 6-8, how we in Christ have died to ourselves and have new life in Christ. It's so freeing to know that since our life is now hidden in Christ-it is no longer I who lives but Christ in me, the hope of glory. A beautiful thing is that every time there is truth that is revealed to me, I feel like I am still on that shore of God's endless ocean. Still learning and growing and discovering new treasures. I love the fact that I can know the Lord deeper, but also always be at the beginning of Him because He is eternal~
There is one point Norman made in his compilation about the lie of Satan that we are independent selves. But the reality is we belong to the one who owns us-our Bridegroom Christ Jesus or the Enemy. We are vessels. It's incredible to think I used to not belong to God!

King Eternal. King Immortal. King Invisible. {1 Tim. 1:17}

Hi everyone!!! Goodness! I have not done an update in AGES. So try to stay up with me as I fly through a couple months worth of stuff…

Weddings galore: Since the month of May, I've been to four weddings. One of my best friends, Fiorella {See picture :)}, got married and my other friend Carlie and I had the privilege of helping her with her guestbook together. I also got to help serve on the worship team and design her wedding invitations. I’m so happy for her!! Her father-in-law, Mr. Barnes had a hurt back or ankle I think while we were doing wedding prep. I got the chance to pray for him and God healed him. No pain!!! Praise the Lord!!

Worship: Music. The Arts. I have learned a lot from the worship class I took this past semester. I love that the invisible brings out the invisible. Isn’t it amazing that songs bring up things in the heart, feelings and desires you didn’t even know were there!?
One prayer request that I have is that the stage be an altar for me. I’ve been really encountering the Lord while I’m singing, even on stage. My favorite is just feeling the kiss of God on my heart and just crying, knowing He loves me.

21 Days of Fasting: There was a word about an attack on the women in our community in their callings. And that there was grace to break through any dullness of heart.
I felt like it applied to me and that night, I felt like a heavy burden I was carrying lifted off.

>Stand in the counsel of the Lord: Randy gave an analogy on how we are so into watching movies. For example, we go to the bathroom beforehand because we don’t want to go during it. And we use all our energy to hear everything and see everything going on. But when it comes to spending time with the Lord, we get so distracted. We don’t fight as hard to be with Him as we do watching a movie. This word really struck me. I believe God will help me to keep me from being so distracted!

I’m going through this season of returning to the Secret Place with the Lord. I’m only expecting the best things to come out of it. I desire everything in this season to be refreshed between the Lord and I. Please pray that I redeem the time use it wisely for His glory!

Faith is required for intimacy with God- Eph. 3:16-19
v. 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith...
Faith is intimacy. Intimacy with the Lord is believing every word that comes from His mouth. {Selah} ☺

Redemption is so much better than perfection!
Genesis 1 and Ps 139: The Lord has been showing me the connection between these two passages. God created the earth without form, void, and with darkness on the face of the deep. Then, His Spirit hovered over the darkness. In Hebrew, the word “hovering” means dancing(at least one of the meanings)! ☺ And sooo, in the same way, (Ps 139:7-10) God loves to redeem us from our darkness and bring Himself greater glory!! There’s a lot more I can say about it, but I don’t wanna write too much, but ask me if you wanna know.

Testimonies
I met a woman I will call Jane at Otani Steak House on Father’s Day evening. She was talking to my friend Laurie and I because we sat at the same hibachi table. She told us twice that her dad had passed away a little while ago. So I think she was trying to drown the pain with alcohol. We were mostly listening to her when we got to the topic of movies, more specifically-Bruce Almighty. She quickly mentioned her praying to God and so I asked her if she did have a faith. Jane said she did but she still had many questions. I asked if I could pray for her right then and she agreed. Somewhere in the middle when I was praying, Jane started crying. I really felt impressed by the Lord that He wanted to show Jane His invitation of love as her Father, especially since she was missing her father so much. Afterwards, she was super thankful. She was thanking me and so was her friend who was with her, which we found out a second after praying that her name was also Laurie. Yes, spelled the exact same way as my friend Laurie who was with me!! I invite you all to pray for her to experience the love of the Father and not be afraid to ask all her questions to the Lord. God answers prayer!!

One day this summer, a group of friends and I went to the river. Jason, Daniel, Emily, and I got to talk to this guy near jumping rock about the Lord. It all started with two words of knowledge for him [let’s call him Joe]. Joe had just reconnected with two female figures in his life: his mom and his sister. And Daniel had received that information from God before Joe told us anything about that. Daniel and Jason shared their testimonies with Joe and Joe seemed very curious especially after the words of knowledge. Daniel also felt that Joe had trouble sleeping at night. We asked Joe about it and it was true. After all this talking, which ended up being around two hours!! The guys gathered around Joe and we prayed over him. Joe said he experienced a sense of peace and he felt his chest shaking even though the water was not cold. Hallelujah!
I got to share the Gospel with Joe, but he did not receive Jesus that day. We are still praying for him to come through and become one of God’s sons and our new brother. Please contend for him!! I feel like he will receive God, Jesus as his Savior!!

Mysteries Revealed | Prophetic Worship Thesis Paper

I have many passions with which to love and serve the Lord, but the one that moves my heart the most is prophetic worship. When I prepare for my set, I feel very excited because I know the Lord will encounter me and encounter the ones in the prayer room. I even believe that He shifts the heavenly atmosphere in the region when I sing to Him. Two things always happen after I do a prophetic worship set. I always feel drained because of the emotional energy I pour out for two hours. But right after that, often times I feel filled with the Spirit and invigorated after my encounter by remembering His goodness toward His people and I. One interesting thing that I am always left wondering is, “What did I just sing?” I am left to process what I sang. Sometimes, on the stage I know what I’m singing is straight from the Holy Spirit and not from me at all. In prophetic worship, the Holy Spirit reveals hidden words of God inside the heart to move it in love for Him.

The third person of the Trinity speaks through worship because the Father is musical. Zephaniah 3:17 says, “…He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” So to understand why the Lord moves through song, one must know what is happening in heaven right now. Revelation 4:8 says, “…And they [the four living creatures] do not rest day or night, saying, ‘Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!’” In the verses to follow, the twenty-four elders also begin to worship God, a domino effect of divine adoration. The living creatures and the elders around the throne are in constant worship. Therefore, the One being worshipped must have a song flowing out from His being! He is the very source of worship. He is the Song of all songs. He is the Everlasting Song of the Ages. The Ancient Song and the New Song. His very Presence is a song. Psalm 32:7 says, “…You shall surround me with songs of deliverance,” and Exodus 15:2 says, “The LORD is my strength and song…” His Word is full of songs. Every blessing that God spoke over Israel, the Gentile Church etc., was quite possibly sung instead of spoken. Actually, the word “blessing” is from the Latin word, “benedicere,” which means, “to praise,” “to worship.” Proverbs 25:20 is an example that shows the power of song, “Like one who takes away a garment in cold weather, and like vinegar on soda, is one who sings songs to a heavy heart.” I believe this verse can speak of the instantaneous impact that songs have on the human heart. In both examples, there is a quick reaction or response. It can be uncomfortable, but 2 Corinthians 2:16 says it best. “To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life…”

The Holy Spirit calls out to God. Psalm 42:7 says, “Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls.” The word, “deep” is “tehowm” in Hebrew, which means (in one definition) deep places. But the root word of “tehowm” is “huwn,” which means to make a (great) noise, to roar, to murmur, to ring again, or to be moved. God and the Holy Spirit are in constant dialogue with one another. Speaking to one another in a language that seems so mysterious yet at the same time, the Spirit reveals all things to us who are in Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:9-11 says, “But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, not ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’ But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.” The wonder is that they desire to communicate through willing vessels like us! Even the Bible was written by God’s prophets and apostles, inspired by the Holy Spirit. (1 Cor. 10:11, 1 Peter 1:10-11) Truly, our tongues are pens for the Lord if we do offer it up to Him as so.

Thankfully, their relationship with one another is not exclusive. For 1 Corinthians 1:9 says, “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” We have been grafted into the fellowship of the triune God! Therefore, if God’s name is also the Song of All Songs and He speaks to us, how much more then will He sing through us to deliver a message to us, to others, and to principalities and powers? Ephesians 1:7-10 declares that “according to the riches of His grace,” He made known to us the “mystery of His will, according to the good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him.” The Lord does not only speak or sing to us, but the way He feels about doing so is very important. It is his good pleasure that He reveals the mystery of His will! He is a mystery, but the way by which we get to Him is not mysterious. God is gracious. Therefore He loves to share His heart and His thoughts with His people.

Psalm 22:3 says, “But You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel.” The Lord is the only one deserving of worship and unceasing adoration because He is the only one who is holy by nature. Because He is holy and paid the price of sin for us, we can become holy under Jesus’ blood. God receives glory when we receive and release what He is speaking and singing through us. His presence comes when we worship Him. Healing comes, demons flee, and unbelievers are suddenly converted under the presence of the Lord.

Like the anointing of the Holy Spirit causes one to receive that which they barely understand; by the same power, the Spirit reveals hidden things in the heart through song. It brings spiritual understanding to what was hidden before through prophetic worship. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of prophecy! Therefore, the Holy Spirit inside speaks and prophesies through which He abides. The Holy Spirit searches the deep things of God, whether it is for one person or many or for a nation. God is love, so His motivation is always love and is meant to enlarge the heart in a way that His commands may be followed.

Spring Starts with the Rain of Tears

March was a crazy month, jam-packed full of events!

One of the first things that happened was a word from John Mulinde.

Watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DE8Acj94eFg

Mike Bickle (Founder of the IHOP-KC) shut down the International House of Prayer University for a couple hours to hear John Mulinde speak a word from God. The Fredericksburg Prayer Furnace shut down the prayer room to hear the word. Mulinde had a dramatic encounter with the Lord, where God told him that He wanted him to repent for his ways of sin. God told John to share what He told him to the Church. As a house, we were very shaken with the fear of the Lord. One the senior leaders called a public confession in the prayer room. Amazingly, this lasted around 5 hours with about 100 staff & community publicly confessing hidden sin in their lives!! There were many, many tears of repentance and afterwards, there was a stronger sense of unity. For me, it awakened my heart to throw off everything that entangles and seek the face of God (Heb 12)!

My mom went to Hong Kong for a week this month. She got blessed with $900 altogether to help pay for the trip to see my grandma and aunt. So Praise God! My grandma still has very fragile health, so one prayer request would be for her to know Jesus. My aunt is at a dangerously low weight. Please pray for her health too and salvation.

In the Bible, I’ve been in the Book of Ruth, Hebrews 10, and believe it or now-Leviticus! I feel like God is teaching me about the centrality of the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. The cross totally throws off striving in the confidence of the flesh. In reading Leviticus, I see God’s plan to send Jesus as the only pure sacrifice for the sins of the world even reading the Levitical law of Israel.

Great News!! God hears our prayers! Gov. Bob McDonnell passed a bill that can/is going to force 17 out of 21 abortion clinics to shut down in Virginia!

I got a chance at the end of March to go to Washington DC with some people from the Prayer Furnace.
Dr. Michael Brown launched his new book, A Queer Thing Has Happened to America at a press conference. This book is mainly targeted at people who are not Christians. It was number one on amazon.com for at least a week when it came out for gay & lesbian non-fiction (Have caution when looking this up…). God broke my heart for people who struggle with homosexuality. At many universities, April is the official Gay Pride month. I think it is probably because of the clever name for the month, “Gaypril.” Please pray for them!

My Prayer points:
Direction after Intro to Staff (after June).
For boldness to witness to my dad. (My dad’s salvation)
Prayer Support and financial support
Clarity on God’s calling on my life.
Grace for fasting (the 21 days of Fasting starts midnight).
Awaken the Dawn conference in May.

He Won't Let Me Forget | February Update

Hi all!
Just a little update on the highlights of January & what's coming up this month. Well, January surely went by like the wind. The first 2 weeks of Intro to Staff were about fundraising & what an intercessory missionary is. Then, I spent another week or two working on my support packet; I hope to send some out to friends soon. So yes, that's how most of January was spent. Last Sunday, which was Jan 30 was my 21st birthday. It was almost like a normal day. Spent my birthday in Richmond half the time and then went to Fredericksburg late afternoon. I got to hang out with friends there and I had a really great time just playing cards and worshipping together. :] I look forward to actually doing art this year. Since the Burn Internship, I haven't really gotten a chance to draw or plan a project, but I'm really excited for this year. :) I'm also going to be writing more poetry &...write songs! Haha! A part of me can't really fathom actually writing a song, but I know it's gonna happen. Holy Spirit keeps inspiring me.
My heart~God has been showing me how He pursues me and leads me too. He pursues me until I run from other lovers (idols) & I run into Him. He leads me into Himself. God is beautiful. There is really no one like Him.
But God is also showing me my part in our relationship. Isaiah 55:1 says, "Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters." And in Rev 1, the Word says His voice sounds like waters. So the Holy Spirit is telling me to come to His voice. I must move toward Him. Psalm 29 is a song about His voice. Read it! It's amazing!!
This month, Intro (the entire base really) is going through Song of Solomon 1:1-5, Hosea 2:14-20, Matt 25:1-10, & Isaiah 62:4-5. We're praying that God will open up the well of intimacy in our hearts.

Both Naked and Unashamed

This is a paper I wrote last semester in Genesis class. Thought I'd post it and just have it up and share revelation. Just like I promised :)

Both Naked and Unashamed

The Beginning and the End of All Things
Mark Kazmier
College of Sacred Scripture, November 29, 2010

Before the universe was created, God was fully satisfied in fellowship with Himself, the Trinity. But sometime in eternity, He provoked Himself to create a kind of longing. Ephesians 1:9 says God, “…made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself.” And Ephesians 1:4 says, “He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world.” From the beginning, the LORD God created yearning in Himself for a Bride who needed the blood sacrifice of His Son in order to be grafted into fellowship with Him forever.
Even a short passage in the first book of the Bible, one can see the cross and the process God took leading up to the cross. Genesis 2:18-20 is about God creating longing in His heart for a Bride. The very fact that He uses His covenant name, “LORD God” is evidence that He intended His Son to be torn for mankind. Another time, in verse 21, the Father calls Himself the LORD God. He is the LORD that desires covenant and God who is the Supreme Being over all creation. In verse 18, He begins by saying, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” From Genesis 1:3, one can find that when He speaks, He creates. The Father begins to make longing in Himself for a helper. In verse 19, God takes the dust that He has created and forms beasts and birds out of it. He knowingly created creatures unlike Himself to continue to grow in the yearning for beings in His own likeness. He brought them to Himself or the Second Adam, Jesus to give them names. One can imagine that with every name God spoke aloud for a bird or a beast or a creeping thing, a fresh realization came upon Him that these creatures were nothing like Him. God desired a race that could give and inevitably withhold love from Him. He desired a race of helpers, who would be voluntary lovers of God. In verse 20, Adam felt loneliness through the monotonous giving of names to all creatures. Creatures had to receive their name. God let Adam feel what He felt before mankind was created. Like Adam desired a helper in a woman, God desired a helper in His Bride, the Church.
After creating a zealous longing in Himself, He had to follow through with satisfying that longing.4 So He caused His Son to fall into a deep sleep. Jesus had to leave His glorified state and veiled His divine nature as a man in order to take on the sin of mankind. The sin that mankind could not pay for. In reading Genesis 2:21 with the story of Adam and Eve in mind, this sleep is sleep. But applying this passage to Jesus as the Second Adam is a little more difficult. The Son of Man felt a degree of separation from the Father as a human. For example, in Psalm 22:1, Jesus cried out on the cross, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” Also, the covenant God made with Abraham led to the crucifixion of Jesus on the cross . This degree of separation does not mean the Father forgot Jesus! He was not an orphan, as a baby in Mary’s womb up until His last breath on the cross. He always was the Father’s Son and always will be His Son forever. In Luke 2:49, Jesus said to Joseph and Mary, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” Even on the cross, Jesus knew where He was going.5 Also in Luke 3:22, God the Father says, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased,” after He got baptized by John the Baptist. Jesus’ ministry and life on the earth was like a deep sleep in a sense because He had to leave the glory He had with the Father to become a man. When He got put to “sleep,” He was still fully aware of His identity as the Holy Son. But He also knew that when He woke up or returned to the Father after the finished work on the cross, the degree of separation He felt on the earth would dissipate. God and the Son, together with the Holy Spirit would again enjoy the fellowship they had before the foundation of the world.6 The sleep also speaks of the trust Jesus had in the Father. The Father anointed His Son to walk by the Holy Spirit.
Continuing still in verse 21, God had to draw blood from Adam’s side to take out the rib. In the same way, Jesus had to spill His blood in order for His Bride to be clean, pure, and spotless.7 His Bride needed part of Him to be grafted into fellowship with the Godhead. The last part of that verse, the LORD closed up the flesh in its place. Similarly, after the work on the cross, Jesus rose from the dead. Every stripe that He suffered was healed and so was every iniquity wiped away from His Bride. The exhilaration of the union of God with His Bride inspired a divine song in verse 23. Finally, the yearning the LORD satisfied! To have a Church made from His own flesh and bone!
Therefore, it pleased the LORD to bruise His Son.8 Through His Son’s suffering, the LORD received His reward. The Son was stripped naked for His Bride and He was not ashamed. Because of the love of God, the Bride realized her hopeless estate without the Father. She was not ashamed to receive the gift from the Father and the love of the Son. For a short time, God risked the defilement of his perfect love and holiness to weak and broken beings. But the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End finished what He started.9 The Father received His sons and daughters and the Son received His Bride.

the time for dancing & singing has come

All the Burn interns graduated this past Sat. I'm so proud of them & excited for their futures in the LORD! Please pray for them if the Holy Spirit brings them to mind. Yesterday, it felt like they've been gone a week!! When you get to know people really well & live with them for a long time & they leave...you definitely feel like you miss them almost immediately. I've been asking the LORD for grace to be home for the next 2 wks. I really desire that my dad gets saved and just for more of God's love to be revealed to all of us, including myself. :)

Anyways, I am super stoked for Intro to start Jan 5. That's right! God has led me to do the Intro to Staff program at the Prayer Furnace. I should be moving in Sunday, Jan 2. I'm so excited I could just skip break & go straight into Intro! Hopefully, I'll be doing more art and writing more poetry and attempt to write some worship songs...hehe :) ...at least start singing some of the poems that I've written.

God has been still hovering over His heart for me as a Father & a Bridegroom too. The Book of Esther and 2 Samuel 7-9 have been really sticking out to me recently. I'm getting revelation slowly, but it's good! I'd really like to share some. :D In a couple days when I arrive in Richmond, I can definitely do that. Pray for me, I need His grace to just look at Him & set my mind on Him. I really desire to love Him with my mind.

Blessings...and may He grant you grace to love Him with your mind too,
Eva

Here We Are.

So. Things are changing fast for me still. I feel like I've been in transition since the Lord called me to do the Burn Internship in January. I can't believe it will be January again pretty soon!-the start of a new year!
Speaking of January, I will not be core group leading the next Burn Internship. I will be starting the Intro Staff program at the Prayer Furnace. Intro is 6mths long and I will be raising my own support hardcore. I need $350/mth, which includes rent+utilities, 2 meals a day for 4 days (We fast Mondays.), & two Bible classes for free. I guess I'll be attempting to cook some Chinese food on the weekends!! :) I will be considered a full-time missionary at the base. Prayer room and service hours add up to 42 hrs a week.

I'm really glad that the Lord has made this transition clear. Wednesday morning, He kept telling me I was His songbird. I knew He was directing me to be a worship leader. I also got confirmation through other people. There are so many things I have to learn! For example, on Tuesday, I learned that water takes 26 mins to get your vocal chords. That's why drinking water on stage doesn't help for the first half an hour :/
But now I know!
I am excited to live with the girls from this internship again! All but one of my girls from my core group will be doing Intro too. :)
Of course I wish all of them would stay in Fredericksburg, but if they feel the Lord is leading them elsewhere. Then, what can I do but let them go. I love living in community with my sisters in Christ. Such a privilege! And everyday, I get so encouraged by how they carry the presence of God and their love. Another perk of Intro is TIME! I've been putting off art and poetry for a while...it seems like forever! I'm so grateful that the Lord has given me this anointing for worship. I've played piano for a couple sets for this past month or so. And I'm eager for the time to cultivate this anointing. Thank You, Jesus!

Please partner with me on what the Lord is doing my life. Pray about it. If you want to support me monthly or give a one-time gift, this is the link above. Just type my name in the white box on the page. *Every donation is tax-deductible*

If the Lord is not calling you to give at this time, please consider praying for my needs and revelation of the Father heart. I'm really hungry to go deep into who God is as my Father and who I am as His daughter.

Blessings in the Lord Jesus Christ,
Eva

Splash me a little. Awaken me a little. Surprise me a little.

Happy morning!

This past Friday, I was super stressed about direction for the coming season. Before Thursday, I was SO sure that I was going to be core group leading again for the Spring Burn Internship. But now I am torn in the middle between two options. I can core group lead again OR I can go onto Intro Staff.
Friday, I could not pay attention at the Burn Service. I stepped out even before worship ended and my friend, Kayla, talked with me outside of the service. We talked about our fears about the future. She prayed for me, but I think my attitude kept me from receiving much from the Lord that night.
But! On Saturday, the Lord really gave me peace about the direction He was to send me in. Praise God!!
...As of now, I am leaning toward doing Intro Staff for various reasons that I will share later :) But I haven't gotten a 100%, definite go from the Lord, so I'm still praying about it.

For all who read this, please pray for me.
Blessings,

Eva

A Fresh Kiss Planted on My Heart

Long past due for an update-But here is what the Lord has been tenderizing my heart with...

This weekend was SUCH a refresher! The Burn Internship family went to Powhatan this last Saturday to the home of our fellow core group leader brother, Tim. :) God reawakened the His father heart to me. Through a father figure, He really told me a lot of the things that I needed to hear. And also, during class yesterday, the Lord opened up some wounds that I've held in. He told me the only way to have them healed is to know His heart as a Father.

I've gotten at least 3 words on being a butterfly and how this new season I'm in is like a butterfly breaking out of her cocoon. I learned that the only way a butterfly gets her strength is through breaking through the shell of the cocoon. If she is helped out, then she will die. The butterfly is a picture of where I am right now. It's hard, but bearable, but challenging at the same time. God has been speaking to me through Psalm 73...He is the strength of my heart & my portion forever.....

Lastly, He is encouraging me to express the heart He has formed & is forming in me. I have something to offer because He has given me. I tend to lean toward holding words in; used to holding in my thoughts. But not anymore, God is going to give me confidence in His love.

May His love be awakened,
Eva

It's Been ______________

The interns have been here for a little over a week now. And so many things have happened! I feel like they've been here forever!
There has been deliverance and times of fellowship and worship together. There have been many good testimonies of what Jesus has done already!! Healing and addictions breaking off and interns just feeling the love of Jesus. :)
I'm not gonna lie. I feel so tired and burnt out. Ministry and working and praying is labor intensive! Today I've just been resting & I'm happy that tomorrow is Consecration day. Fasting always creates good fruit. And so excited for what God is doing in these new interns. Even though it is a lot of work, I know it is going to be worth it.

The Long Night

Only 2 weeks and 2 days til' I head back up to Fred!!!!!!! Well, one day actually since it is almost twelve. I'm super excited for this new semester coming up. I know there will be many changes. I'm not gonna be an intern anymore, but a core group leader. DUN, DUN, DUN! A core group leader! Haha, but I am truly SUPER SUPER excited and really giddy. I feel like God is going to help me "grow a backbone." I am big on showing mercy to others, but I am hesitate a lot of the time to correct in love. Not that I've never corrected somebody in love. My heart is not big enough to do it all the time in love. Only His heart is big enough. :) So I am looking forward to learning from my Abba & from my sisters & brothers in Christ to help. Yes, it is uncomfortable to die to myself, but it gots to happen! So let the trials come & may I cling to my Lord in the midst!!
This summer is soon over and I'd say spiritually it was a hot, hot desert. I left the internship in the wilderness and I'm still in it. Still running into me & seeing stuff I don't like. Apathy & laziness & a spirit of slumber are the main ones I'm struggling with. God is gently, but firmly speaking to me throughout this time. A lot of the time I feel so weak. I don't really like it, hahaha, but that's when His strength is evident. He really does chase me with His affection in every season of my life. I am so grateful to my God. He is so good. :)
So that is where I am now with the Lord. Just crying out for intimacy. And really...to just feel hungry again. To enter into grace to set myself before His face & receive from the Holy Spirit. I'm learning more & more that I am not just living for my relationship with God, but the people He wants to touch through me. Knowing that He has planned for me to be a leader in the next internship really puts into perspective, the ones I am to shepherd the next 4 months. He's gonna use me to mold them into His image through the Holy Spirit. I'm really excited! It's gonna be SO worth it!

If anyone reads this..which I am not sure if anyone does..pray for me & the new interns & the leaders. It would mean a lot <3

Eva

"What Happened to Eva!?!?"| A testimony.

Burn Internship Testimony

I had no idea that voicing my interest in the Burn Internship would result in a decision that would wound me so much in love for God that the cry of my heart demanded that I lay down my life. This roller coaster ride started even before the internship. On a cold winter's day, I walked over to a hotel and met with Ronnette, the director of the Burn Internship program at the Fredericksburg Prayer Furnace. I walked away with an application and a strong desire to take a semester off school & just see what God did with me there. This happened while I was at the OneThing 09' Conference, so during our breaks, I would ask God for direction, but I didn't feel like He gave me any answer except to "stay in Virginia." Only a day after I got home from KC, Ronnette texted me & told me she needed an answer by the next day. I panicked a bit & prayed again to the Lord for direction. While I was praying, I heard His voice in my spirit, "Go,"
..."Lord, are you sure?-"
Again, He said, "Go."
So it was settled. I was going to be in Fredericksburg for an internship with the Prayer Furnace in 2 short weeks. Later on, my mom didn't handle it well, but [she] knew that in my stubbornness, I would not back down. So mid-Jan I headed up to Fred. for orientation day! I was super excited to start and a little nervous looking around at the other interns. Ronnette gave a little speech & introduced us to our core group leaders & separated us up into our houses. I just remember thinking how good these next four months were going to be, but little did I know that I was going to be blown out of the water with the knowledge of God, the depth of my sin, and the unending height of His delight in me.

First things first. One of first things we did as an internship was deliverance week. Early on, God revealed that I was carrying around self-hatred & shame. Self-hatred you say??? You hated yourself, Eva?? Yes, I understand it sounds like I was depressed, but I wasn't. I describe it as having a lot of insecurities or another way to say it is: having confidence in my flesh. That being said, the Lord took me through a spiritual desert. In that desert, I ran into myself {Flesh.} and I ran into God {My Beloved: shining & dazzling}. Holy Spirit showed me what I struggled with and God spoke His truth over me. Psalm 8:5 {...And You have crowned him with glory & honor.} & Ephesians 1:17-19 {v18. ...that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.} are two verses He used to speak to me about my worth in Him. Along with that, He extended grace for a 21-day fast from wearing make-up to show me what real beauty is and where real worth comes from.
Hosea 2 became a really vital chapter for me during the internship. In the Book of Hosea, I read about how the Lord asked Hosea to take a prostitute for a wife as a symbol of how He felt with Israel [Hosea 1:2,3:1-5]. Through that chapter, the Holy Spirit revealed to me how I was like that harlot, going after many things to satisfy me. Not knowing that in my pursuit of feeling complete, I forgot about God. But God, in His faithfulness, chased me down & drew me to the wilderness to speak to me about who He was again. Together with Hosea 2***, He led me to Song of Solomon 2:2, "Like a lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters," to show me that His love was so utterly set apart, it can be compared to one beautiful flower among many nasty, prickly thorns. I really felt like I was falling in love again with God when I understood more of His character.

A seemingly small thing marked a great change in me during the Burn. All the ladies of the house [10, including me], were all assigned weekly chores. Being the young adults we were, we keep the house tidy for a bit & then got quite lazy with our duties. Therefore, our house 'mom' assigned a paper for us to write about character. I think we all had a reluctant attitude when we heard about this homework assignment. But God showed me while I was complaining in my heart, that this was a very caring thing to do on Rebekah's [house mom] part. She wanted us to be even more refined by God in the little things, like doing your chore faithfully. For if you are faithful with a little, you will be faithful with much. I realized even more that God doesn't look at your anointing or gifts, He looks at your heart. What is most precious to God is hidden [Colossians 3:3 For you died, & your life is hidden with Christ in God].
I will share yet another revelation from Him about character. For a short two & a half years I became involved with the Richmond International House of Prayer, I had unknowingly developed a performance mentality & pride from the anointing God gave me for intercessory prayer. My insecurity manifested in pride & jealousy when certain people would pray on the microphone at the Prayer Furnace. [We pray on the mic, so the room can hear it & agree corporately, but the idea is not to pray to the men in the room, but straight to God.] I thought, "So & so prays so much better than me." God intervened & showed me that my insecurity came from an orphan spirit. He showed me that He adopted me as His own daughter & I really didn't need to perform or compare myself to His other children. God didn't want me to pray fancy words that had no meaning or had no connection to my heart...He just wanted me to be sincere & let the Holy Spirit do His job. I realized that the motivation of the heart was very important. That put to rest my burden, so I rested in my identity as His very own.
One of the hardest parts of my life happened during the Burn. I had to cling to Him so tightly during this time. About halfway into the internship, I started asking God for direction in my life for the next season. I had already fallen in love with being in the wilderness, no matter how uncomfortable it was to my flesh! In other words, I had no desire whatsoever to return to VCU in the fall. But I wrestled with the possibility of staying because my heart was broken for VCU; I desired that God would send revival to that university & felt inclined to be a part of it. I also had worries about how I'd live as staff at FPF. As my anxiety grew, His answer came the week some IHOPPERS decided to use their Spring Break from International House of Prayer [IHOP in Kansas City, MO] to help FPF with nightwatch [prayer & worship 12am-5am]. One of those days, the IHOPPERS got to prophesy [Rev. 19:10] over the interns. I REALLY wanted God to confirm where He wanted me to be through one of them! And He did. He gave me Isaiah 62. Verse 6 talks about the Lord setting watchmen on the wall to cry out to God day and night. He told me He would set me in His house & that He's faithful. He said if I said, "Yes," He would do it. He said He was raising me up to be a deliverer & that I would find Jesus in the wilderness. He said that there's grace to cultivate years in the wilderness. And the last thing He said was that this season was to be in His power, not just experience & in His grace, not just trials. I was indescribably happy! I shouted, "Praise God!" out loud, loud enough for the whole room to hear! Now, this time of joy was short-lived because I knew I had to break the news to my parents. At first, they were very upset & disappointed with me. I had a couple phone conversations with my dad & my mom as well as one face-to-face meeting about these plans from the Lord. And their disappointment really broke me because I wanted to honor them & finish school, but I knew that if I disobeyed the Lord, the consequence would be greater. There was no shortage of tears during this time. But a miraculous thing happened! After talking face-to-face with my dad, he said these words, "I will support you in whatever you do, as long as you do it well." I was so happy! And a week later, my mom called & left a message on my phone telling me the same. She also told me a little later that when she told God she trusted Him with His decision for me, she saw a vision! It was one of a woman with most of her face blurry except for her big, shiny smile! And all around this smiling woman was a lot of purple! Hearing this really touched my heart because my mom told me that it was the first time she felt like God answered her prayer. The Lord really used this whole experience to have confidence in His will and really know my Shepherd and really know that wherever I am, God is my home.

The last thing I want to say goes with the verse, "For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain [Phil. 1:21]." One of my fellow interns preached on this & it really wrecked me. He talked about the conflict Paul had in his spirit to die & be with Christ & to stay, so that the church could be strengthened. I want to connect this point to an observation my friend made. She came to Richmond one night with me to sleep over at my parents' house & noticed my sculpture on my bookshelf. I made it in high school about marriage in America. I decided that it would represent divorce because around 50% of US marriages ended in divorce. The splattered paint purposely made the cake look ugly & bruised. To top it off, I put a broken heart on the top-layer of the cake. It was really ugly. My friend told me she felt like the Holy Spirit wanted me to do the cake over, but this time about Jesus & His Bride. So I took the sculpture to Fred. & asked Him how to restore it. What He said that meant the most to me was that, "We are one." So living in Christ & dying to myself makes us one. I want that so bad, but not as badly as He wants us to be one. Now, I am in the process of creating what He has shown me & still working on it.

In a nutshell, I'd describe the past four months like finding an oasis in the desert, but once you get to the oasis-all you can do is sit there and stare with your mouth gaping wide open. On a more serious note, I walked out of the internship, more strongly desiring to walk in Christ. Whether I live, I live for Him & whether I die, I die for Him. Though to a lovesick heart, dying to the flesh is destined because His love is greater, His jealousy as cruel as the grave. I'm not trying to puff myself up at all to say that I've arrived fully at this point. But I know that if I am genuinely sincere to desire to know God that intimately, then He will do it. I will never be perfect, but all I want to hear at the end...whether I die & go to Heaven or Jesus comes riding on the clouds with all His glory & takes me up...is "Well done, good & faithful servant, My beautiful bride. Come & live forever with Me in the the city I have prepared for you," that's all I need to hear. That's all I'm longing to hear.

Jesus, my everything

What am I doing right now? I am listening to Christina Aguilera's "I Turn to You" and I don't know if she is singing about the Lord, but that's how I'm listening to it...I feel like I'm in a season of turning. It is a season of burning. All security that has come from anything/anyone other than God is losing its grasp...
Everything I'am holding on to is disappearing. I can't hold on to my bank account. I can't hold on to my possessions. I can not hold on to people, I can not lean on them as my strength. I can not depend fully on family to be my support. I can not even depend on my church to be there for me all the time. Who can do it?? Who is able? Whose love is able to sustain me???? God. My Lord. My Beloved. The Lover. [I will try to expound more on this later...]

Tomorrow, all of us Burn interns are going to Washington DC to stand in front of the White House. A senator has asked that at least a hundred people stand outside the White House with LIFE tape across their mouth, and pray for the ending of abortion. There will be press. And I have a feeling this will be one of the most critical events I have ever been a part of so far. Please pray for us and pray together with us for the ending of abortion-that our government will promote the sanctity of life in the healthcare bill. If not, abortion will grow at an unprecedented level if this bill is passed. Taxes we pay will go to fund this mass genocide. I pray it will not happen. God have mercy on America.

2nd Week | 3rd Week

Deliverance week was not as intense as I expected it!!!!!! OH YEAH! Deliverance, for those who do not know-is going from believing a lie of the Enemy to believing the truth from God. Example: someone believes that they are ugly, then God breaks in and that lie is broken & that person lines themselves up God's truth that God sees them as beautiful and they are fearfully and wonderfully made!!! Deliverance week included: open doors, confidence in love, father and mother wounds, overcoming a spirit of fear, healing of memories, generational curses, and overcoming sexual sins/purity covenant.

The father wounds really helped me see that I've been seeing God like my dad. The Lord is good good Daddy. Hehe. God, all in all, broke off a lot of shame from deliverance week. :) These two wks, the Lord has been speaking to me about crowning me with "honor and glory" [Psalm 8:5] and showing me how He sees me instead of how I see me. Ephesians 1:17-19 has a treasure chest of revelation. I mean, check it out,"the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints." The saints-that is US!!! Meditate on these verses. I promise it will blow your mind :]
I started my apostolic preaching class last week. We were all assigned a chapter in the Bible and by the end of March have to preach 30 mins on it! I am a little nervous, but mostly excited! It was amazing our teacher asked God what to give each of us individually; and I got Hebrews 3! I am excited to meditate on it, so Holy Spirit can release some mad revelation.
Last Wed evening, the interns separated into groups and did SOZO outreach. SOZO is a class we take where we get trained in the supernatural:gifts of prophecy, healing, etc. For SOZO outreach, the group I was in went to Wegman's[super grocery store]. We prayed for words of knowledge before going in and Chad felt like we needed to go to the flower shop. So we got there and the woman behind the counter was happy to get prayer for her friends. She said we made her night :] Thank You, Jesus! We prayed for a couple others, but just wanted to share that nice testimony.
Last Thurs, we had consecration day. 10 hours in the prayer room while fasting the entire time. I believe we finally broke fast between 8 and 9PM. Every Thurs, the entire Burn staff + interns fast. Keep the flesh under control! Haha.

The King and His Bride

In the night, You came to me.
Locked far away in a dark, dreary place.
I am the Shulamite girl-out of sight,
Out of mind from the world outside.
To them, I am transparent.

In those times, He kept me alive.
Aye! My heart still steadily beats!
I was the trapped beauty. A ca'ged dove.
But the King of Glory set me free.
Across the meadow, we ran.
The dew dampening our garments.
{in a moment.....}
I was taken up by His swirling embrace.
Dapples of greens and blues danced before my eyes.
As the sun smiled in His.
My divine Romeo-
Yeshua.

He has come for me-to whisk me away.
Aye! But the bliss is short-lived.
In a hushed whisper, He tells me this,
"My hands are trained for war & my fingers for battle.
The time has come. The battle plan has been long ready."
I waste no time. My face is set toward His.
And war paint is smeared on.
We hasten together to the city as rockets fly
in the distant shores.
